Mike’s Story

Mike (not his real name) was worried when his hot water service started playing up and winter was approaching.  When he enquired with a local church agency about borrowing some money to fix it, he was surprised he could get a NILS® loan to purchase a new one.

“I had no idea about NILS®, and I'm really happy” he told the SCOAP agency worker, “and I think when I’ve paid this off I might buy even a new bed for myself as well”.  Mike is a very proud man as he hasn’t been able to buy any major items new before. “I’ve always had second hand or old stuff”.
